General
Each spray nozzle shall be designed to provide an economical, non-clog
foam control spray which produces a wide flat fan spray pattern while
using minimum pressure and water volume.
Material
Nozzle Body
The nozzle body shall be constructed of DELRIN plastic, shall have
a 3/8" clearance passageway through the body of the nozzle to
prevent clogging, and shall have a molded 1/2" NPT threaded end
for connecting to the spray system header. To facilitate installation,
there shall be wrench flats just above the threaded part of the base.
Spray Nozzle Cap
The nozzle cap shall also be constructed of DERLIN plastic and shall
be biased toward the nozzle body with type 304 stainless steel springs.
Operation
The nozzle shall be capable of delivering 2 GPM at 3 PSI pressure,
with the spray pattern covering 60" width at a distance of 18"
from the nozzle tip.
Should the nozzle become clogged, due to the use of contaminated
liquids, the cap can be lifted manually to purge the nozzle of any
blockage.
Installation
Installation shall be performed with care to prevent damage to the
nozzle. The nozzle is designed to screw into a 1/2" NPT threaded
connection on the water supply pipe system.
